Our client is a private national provider of specialist Paediatric Nursing services to patients up and down the country, with a particular focus on the care of those with Lysosomal Storage Diseases. A well regarded company, currently expanding on their previous sucesses, they are currently looking to recruit an experienced Paediatric Nurse on a Part Time basis to handle a Greater London based caseload of Paediatric patients.
Working closely with the Paediatric Clinical Lead Nurse you will join the Paediatric team covering the Greater London/ West London area as you manage your own caseload of clients, making convenient appointments accordingly. You will enjoy a great deal of independence in this role, as you will manage you own diary around the needs of your patients, and experience a fantastic freedom in this community role.
You responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring all Paediatric care and Enzyme Replacement Therapy is delivered to the highest possible standard
* Develop strong relationships with the referrers and your patients/ carers/ parents
* Manage the interface between hospital and external agency service according to the needs of your patients
* Provide a training programme to your patients and their carers/ parents to allow in home self- cannulation and infusion
* Maintain accurate records of care
* Record/ Report any adverse events/ side effects
* Promote self care through empowerment of your patients
* Identify personal development needs
Our client would love to see anyone interested in this position who has the drive and passion to succeed by delivering a superb level of care to patients at all times. You will also require UK NMC registration and previous Paediatric experience. In addition to your Paediatric skills, your communication and relationship building skills will be particularly desired as you visit patients in their own homes. Previous community experience is not required, however the desire for the freedom and enjoyment of travel that this position offers will be needed. A fair level of computer literacy is required, and IV Cannulation skills would be desired, however not essential as internal training is offered for this and other areas.
