Dingley Family & Specialist Early Years Centres is a registered charity that supports children with additional needs and their families across Berkshire. We require an ambitious and committed individual to manage our operation in Reading.

Qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development or equivalent your responsibilities will include working collaboratively with parents, health professionals and other agencies to ensure the needs of children are met effectively. Engagement in third sector activities is beneficial as the role includes community based work.

Responsibilities include:

- Recruiting, selecting and retaining staff, providing opportunities for internal training, writing training material and maintaining good standards of children’s care, learning and development through leading a team of qualified childcare practitioners.

- Encourage staff members to access external training opportunities in order that they might extend their own knowledge and expertise.

- Create and maintain positive environments in which children will thrive and demonstrate how staff might sustain the environment and evaluate areas for development/improvement. Manage income, fundraise, network and write/review our organisations policies and procedures.

- Work in partnership with parents/carers of the children registered to attend the setting, evaluating the performance of staff including appraisals and provide feedback, adapting practice to conform with the Office for Standards in Education, preparing for inspection, liaising with internal and external agencies, writing and maintaining children’s formal assessments and reports and submitting these to other health professionals where necessary.

- You may be responsible for writing and delivering presentations within the contexts of your role and responsibility as manager of the setting and ensuring your staff are supervised appropriately whilst qualifying for formal awards in child care practice.
