Hi,

As there seemed to be a lot of people in the same boat on Gumtree – looking to get out more and make new friends - some of us got together to form a group where we could all get to know each other and go out locally.

Since forming earlier this year, the group is doing really well. It's been great getting to know local people and we've had plenty of fun so far – we’re planning some new events soon, such as going bowling, playing pool, going to the Reading Beer Festival together and attending Royal Ascot.

This isn't a formal group, we won't ask for money to join or anything like that - it really is just a group of us getting together over a beer or whatever we fancy! Anyone can suggest and organise events and there is no obligation for anyone to do anything they don’t want to do! Just this week, we’ve had a meal out, been to a pub quiz and tonight we’re off to see some live music.

We've set up a webspace where everyone can post messages, so that we can communicate with each other about upcoming meets etc. If you'd like to join in, please email me and I'll send you a link.
