Family Support Worker, Surrey, Social Care
Family Support Worker- required for a temporary contract based in the Surrey/Berkshire region.
Our client is presently looking for a social worker to join their children and families department. The opening is to join their successful and friendly children's division, the opportunity will offer new challenges and further progress within an integrated team.
We are looking to appoint a Family Worker to support families living in the Surrey/Berkshire area. The aim of this project is to develop parenting skills and to improve the social and emotional development, ability to learn and health of their children and to assist in directly providing this service.
Key requirements:
* Knowledge of child care legislation including the Children Act 1989 and associated guidance and regulations
* Theory and practice of child care planning
* Experience of being able to interview children and families
* Good written and oral communication skills
* Able to organise and prioritise own work
* Able to operate within a multi-disciplinary setting
* Able to carry out child in need assessments.
Applicants need to meet the following requirements:
- Experience in a statutory children and families setting, preferably in a children's centre
- Qualification in childcare, e.g. NVQ3, social work qualification
- Enhanced CRB check carried out within the last twelve months
