Based in Maidenhead my client is looking to add to their development and design team with a web designer. The firm have been consistently growing year on year and are unaffected by the recession having had their best year to date with 30% growth. As the web designed in the short term you will be working as part of a small team within the head office however there is the option for flexi time from the start and potentially working from home in the future.

An excellent web designer you will be experienced in the design, build and maintenance of web sites using HTML, CSS and scripting languages. The web designer will also be working with the in house developers to integrate back end services.

Due to the variety of projects you will be involved with we are looking for a web designer who can


 Create both imaginative and attractive working page layouts which keep usability at the forefront
 Understand search engine optimisation and how the design of the site can affect it
 Write the copy for the websites and blogs


Skills required for the web designer role:


 Web page and site creation/layout.
 Graphics creation and design.
 HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX (jQuery)
 Excellent written and spoken English.
 Preferred skills knowledge of SQL, IIS, ASP, Linux, JSP, SEO, Windows Servers.
 Knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation.


In addition, the successful web designer must have the ability to work with database developers to integrate backend and frontend databases therefore exposure to SQL and Server side development would be a benefit.
