Ict Technician
Our client in Wiltshire is looking for an experienced ICT Technician to be part of the team within this primary school.
The main purpose of the job is to provide first-line, on-site ICT support to staff and to support the learning of children.
The objectives of the job are to:
• Maintain and develop ICT systems
• Enable staff and children to be both effective and efficient in their operation of ICT systems
• Recognise the financial implications of advising and operating information systems
• Be responsible for managing own time and being pro-active in supporting school's ICT needs
The major responsibilities are:
• Liaising with other members of staff, LEA colleagues and other outside agencies
• Maintaining and up-dating ICT systems
Your main tasks are to:
• Work under the direction of the ICT Co-ordinator, class teachers and the Head Teacher, and develop a positive relationship with them
• Support and advise the ICT co-ordinator with the identification of ICT needs and problems
• Provide up-to-date information and support
• Maintain appropriate liaison with suppliers and EDISS
• Maintain records and provide information to all relevant parties
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new systems and up-dates
• Identify and respond to ICT incidents
• Oversee the Inventory, maintenance and repair of equipment
• Assist with ensuring adequate arrangements exist for the security of data, systems and hardware
• Work with children to help with their learning
• This will involve working with small groups and individuals, helping to explain tasks and showing how they are to be done, but without doing the task for them.
• An important role will be to discuss tasks, so that the children can think about them for themselves and learn to tackle them without help.
Use your initiative to:
• Suggest suitable activities for the children, based on your knowledge of what they need to do in order to make progress
• Draw the class teacher's attention to significant developments in children's learning or behaviour
• Report immediately to the class teacher any concerns you have about any child's welfare in or out of school
• Attend relevant training sessions
