Database Engineer (ref tecsrru)
Salary: basic c£18k pa (plus excellent bonus scheme – expected OTE £35k)
Based: Grazeley, Reading
We are a leading provider of innovative services to the utility sector. Situated in modern offices near Reading, we specialise in providing intelligent analysis and field investigations for utility companies, for whom we identify previously unbilled revenue.
To enable us to identify unbilled revenue we carry out sector analysis for properties of a similar type such as hotels and predict how much each property within the sector should be using and then compare to this to what it is being billed by our clients.
We have developed a very sophisticated in-house database which needs feeding and populating with high quality data and information. We collect masses of data from numerous sources which then needs formatting, manipulating and structuring into a standard and logical format to enable us to develop viable sectors from which we can calculate expected usage. This is vital to what we do.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and hard working individual to help us develop and grow the business. This is where you come in.
Having gained exceptional software skills you will be particularly adept at formatting unstructured data sources and sense checking information to spot anomalies and errors. You will come from a technical background and have the ability to balance speed with quality.
Ideally a post graduate in applied sciences or engineering you will have a full driving licence, be able to work on your own initiative and have excellent interpersonal skills.
