Business Development Manager - Laboratory Services/Food
Home Based - South of England
Salary: £30 - 35k basic plus commission (OTE £40 - 45k)

Our client is a leader in the field of laboratory testing and they are looking to strengthen their Food division by recruiting a Business Development Manager to support current accounts as well as identifying and growing new business opportunities. Our client is looking for candidates with a strong, proven background in laboratory service or food testing sales both through effective account management and new business development.
Candidates should have a relevant background in laboratory services or food testing, have an excellent understanding of food testing, nutrition or microbiology and be proven in selling a laboratory or food testing service.
Based from home, the successful candidate will be managing the Southern UK (South East, London & south of M4) territory.
Key Responsibilities will include:-
- Pro-active sales to win new business (via networking, leads, cold calls, meetings etc..)
- Work with existing customers to ensure satisfaction and renewal of business tenders
- Gain market intelligence and enhance the profile of the organisation
- Generate quotes (in line with pricing policy) and follow up
- Liaise with laboratory to ensure the smooth implementation of new accounts
- Prepare tender documents/service contracts for key clients
- Liaise with new and existing customers, on both commercial and service criteria
- Account Management including co-ordination of allocated Key Accounts within the group, especially multi-site/multi-lab customers, including monthly quality surveys
- Attend customer review meetings and feedback/coordinate actions to the lab
