A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a permanent Oracle DBA Consultant based in Reading. My client is going through an exciting period of growth which has resulted in this opening.

You will work within a team responsible for ensuring the systems are up and running, reliable and secure. You will be responsible for implementing, testing and monitoring business systems. This will include carrying out backup and recovery operations, performance tuning and troubleshooting. Part of your role will include installing and configuring new applications, upgrading and implementation.

You must have strong exposure to RMAN (recover manager) and RAC systems management. Previous experience of Oracle 10g/11g upgrades and implementation is necessary along with Dataguard and Grid Control. In addition you must have excellent exposure to Oracle administration primarily UNIX or Linux platforms. Furthermore, you will have the ability to write technical reports have a passion for keeping up to date with the Oracle market.

This is a fabulous opportunity paying up to £45,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.
