Thames EuroClub organises a regular Stammtisch in Reading, Maidenhead, Newbury, Marlow and Basingstoke each month.

Join us for our regular "Deutscher Stammtisch" in Reading at the Great Expectations on London Street.

There is no specific agenda and we discuss topical issues. If you find an article in a newspaper or magazine that you would like to discuss then do bring along a couple of copies for people to read.

A Stammtisch is a table in German or Austrian Pub where a group of regulars congregate. The regulars don't call up their friends to invite them to the pub as many of them will just go along each week. The Hofbraeuhaus in Munich has a number of Stammtische.

Outside Germany the word is used to signify the place where Germans and German Speakers meet.

Language Level: Suitable for Native Speakers and those who speak German to a Good Conversation Level. No Beginners please!
