IT Systems Support Engineer

Laverstoke Park Produce LLP (www.laverstokepark.co.uk) is a multi-award winning, rapidly expanding and very diversified group of organic food and drink businesses, employing over 100 staff, based at a privately owned 2,500 acre estate in Hampshire. The various enterprises include

• The rearing and processing of cattle, pigs, wild boar, sheep and poultry, both as fresh meat and processed products at on site abattoir and manufacturing facilities.
• The production and processing into cheese and ice cream.
• The growing of hops and production of beer.
• The growing of a wide range of organic fruit and vegetables
• The processing of green waste into compost supported by a dedicated on-site soil analysis laboratory.

As a result of the recent growth, a new position of IT Systems Support Engineer has been created, to assist with the support and development of various IT systems operated within the business. This role will report to the Head of IT. The successful candidate will have:

• Technical background of SQL Database Administration, performance tuning & developing SQL based reports.
• Extensive experience with core knowledge concepts and technologies such as TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, SMTP, and HTTPS
• Have in-depth experience with Integrated ERP business solutions, experience with food and beverage would be an advantage but not essential.
• Be an experienced “Troubleshooter” in both for hardware and software.
• Experience of Barcode systems
• Be Degree qualified
• Have a strong background in Software design
• Have a good working knowledge of Pearl, PHP and Python
• Be accomplished in Project Design, Planning and Management
• Be a quick learner
• Be able to work to deadlines
• Be flexible and very well organised
• Have an excellent eye for detail
