A Head of English job has arisen at a well established independent school in Berkshire with a start date of September 2010 or ASAP. This job is a full-time position. The school has an excellent reputation and is noted for its high pastoral care and all round strengths.

The successful candidate will lead the English department by example, by thorough knowledge and understanding of the English subject. This position is also responsible for the school productions and some experience and/or a passion in this area is desirable. 


The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher, who is flexible, motivated and inspiring and who has an extensive knowledge of the National Curriculum. You will be someone who is able to effectively plan and deliver lessons to a high standard. This role will also act as Form Tutor for one class throughout the year.


An excellent knowledge of numeracy and literacy is essential as well as a firm commitment to developing the potential of every child. You will be required to work closely with the other teachers so the ability to work as a member of a team is imperative.
